Michelle Nevin grew up in racing in Tipperary, Ireland, and took out her license in America in 2013. As she is in here six-year of training in the united states she has earned a total of 18-19 million dollars, with 2,049 runners, 366 winners, 325 seconds, and 287 thirds. This year alone she has got off to a real nice start to her 2020 career with 164 starters, 23 winners, 26 seconds, and 23 thirds putting her at 1. 2 million-plus in earning so far this year.
Her Barn did very well over at Saratoga over the summer at Saratoga but she was just warming up as she entered the Fall meet at Belmont. Her first runner of the meet at Belmont was on September 18 in the 10th race at Belmont with K.K. ICHIKAWA a 3-year-old out of Twirling Candy who went off at 12- 1 came down the lane strong to get up for the win and cash in paying 27.20 for the win. The barn has been on fire ever since. The barn has run a total of 17 runners with 5 wins, 4 seconds, and 2 thirds. Putting the barn at 12 for 17 in the money putting them at 70 percent in the money. Most of them not being the favorite in the race and either coming off a layoff or being a first-time starter. The Barn knows how to get their horses to run in the money no what the situation or odds are. I look forward to seeing them cash in on a couple of runners they have today at Belmont as well as set to run for the full weekend of racing we have at Belmont.
Barns like Michelle Nevins sometime get overlooked of there accomplishments because they do not have a big barn with 200-300 horses to put them in the top standings of the training poles, which Chad Brown is in the lead right now with 23 starters 7 wins 2 seconds and 4 thirds. Putting his barn at 57%. I think there should be a top trainer standing for Percentages and not just who has the most wins.
